Community Rowhouse

The Community Rowhouse was a vision project for a local rowing club. The brief consisted of a visioning study that would be designed as a shared space among athletes, local residents and guests alike. The building programme focuses on providing athletes with a dedicated training facility, students and visitors with a boat rental and learning centre, and guests with a multi-use event space. These uses are stacked on top of one another with views oriented to the water overlooking the action. The building is positioned strategically on the site to reduce its overall footprint and environmental impact. The facility extends over the water to minimize site work and engage the coastline, creating a strong connection between site and the surrounding inlet.
