Pink Geranium

Located on forested Gulf Island in Canada, this historic small building was once home to the Galiano Lodge, a local bed & breakfast and restaurant infamous for its fine cooking. For a few decades in the later half of the twentieth century, the Lodge catered to guests and locals alike as a peaceful destination for a trip away from the City. Over twenty years later, the Lodge is set to become a new destination complete with café and grocer, selling freshly baked goods and coffee, along with locally produced goods, locally grown flowers and locally crafted art.

Our proposed design for the project aims to revitalize the building with locally sourced materials to further acknowledge the building's unique sense of place, while creating a more efficient and functional structure. Natural materials will be used throughout to blend in with the existing vernacular of the community and allow local craftsmen to construct the overall renovation. Although the overall footprint remains the same, the interior layout is entirely reimagined and will be fully accessible to all guests.

Stay tuned as the project develops!
