Ridgemont Residence

​The design for this project reimagines the interior of an old bungalow located in Fernie, BC. The existing space is elongated east to west, with views south towards the mountains from the living spaces and private spaces concealed along the north. The aim of the design was to maintain a simple material palette that would add warmth to the space while connecting the kitchen, dining and living rooms with a holistic and consistent architectural language. Natural wood tones are used on floor, wall and ceiling surfaces, and are varied in texture to animate the interior as you travel through the spaces. Fine material and construction details are considered throughout the design, concealing and revealing various functions of the interior.
