Squamish Townhouses

Currently in design development, this five-unit multi-family rental project comprises two distinct buildings: a larger four-unit townhouse and a smaller single-unit carriage house. Located in Squamish, British Columbia, the project adopts a restrained architectural language defined by simple forms and a strong orientation toward views of the Stawamus Chief. A covered front entry, clad in darkened wood, creates a warm and welcoming arrival sequence using materials that resonate with the surrounding mountainous landscape.

Situated within a floodplain, the project is required to elevate all habitable floor areas above a designated flood level. This constraint became an opportunity to raise the buildings on posts, minimizing site disturbance while reducing potential conflicts with local wildlife. The exterior palette is composed of highly durable materials, articulated in varying profiles to create alternating textures and visual depth across the façades.

Stay tuned as this project develops!
